Trevor Francis became England's first £1 million player when he was transferred from Birmingham City to Nottingham Forest. He was versatile attacker, who possessed great technical skills, and was a very skilled dribbler. He was very fast, thing that helped him to be successful on a winger position too. Although he was naturally striker, Clough used him a little behind Birtles or on the right side. He possessed decent shots, but his heading wasn't top level. Nevertheless, he scored European Cup winning goal with a header. He liked to cut from the side, beat the opponent and than shot at the goal. He was tireless, always in motion and he regularly helped his defense. He also took corner kicks from the right side after Woodcock left the club. He was physically very weak, and injury prone player. For English NT he played in 52 games scoring 12 times.
