Became one of the national team squad during the flop in the 1958 Swedish World Cup qualifiers. He began in Lisbon, during the match lost 3-0 against Portugal and took part in the stormy game in Belfast on December 4, 1957, for admission to the World Cup playoff downgraded to friendly to the absence of the referee. By Carlo Galli alternated in the role of striker, the two share out the cumbersome legacy of Gunnar Nordahl, moved to Rome. Won a new title, as reserve of Altafini in 1958-59. Passes in 1960 to Genoa in Serie B, to pair with Firmani, the two contributed to a historic promotion of rossoblù in A (64 goals and eleven points ahead of second Napoli). On 2 April 1961, the match away against Novara, Bean scored four goals. Contributed to the achievement of his goals in Cup Alpine 1964 and 1963 the Friendship Cup. He played the last few seasons in rossoblù from left wing, then was transferred to Naples, in B, which won a new promotion in the top flight. Dressed again in Serie A, the mesh of the SPAL, in 1967, when Paul Mazza attempted, with its inclusion, to give more punch to the attack biancoazzurro.
