INFOMiguel Ángel Montuori played on inside forward position. Despite the legends like Giancarlo Antognoni and Roberto Baggio, Montuori is regarded as Firentina's greatest No 10. Player with fantastic dribbling and technique, accurrate passes and good scorer as well. Montuori was very inventive player who needed some time to settle in Italy but soon became one of the most beloved players in history of Fiorentina. In the splendor of his life of sample (162 appearances for Fiorentina; blue 12 times, 2 goals for his country) a ball in the head during a league match between Fiorentina and Perugia De Martino, 19 April 1961, caused him severe internal injuries . Despite a number of delicate brain surgery Montuori was forced to abandon football. For Fiorentina scored in 162 appearances with 73 goals (only Hamrin 151 and 124 Batistuta have done better). In the national team (12 caps) made his debut against France in '56 and played the last game against Switzerland in 1960, scoring three goals, one of the blue. In short a brilliant career until April '61 when, in fact, there is' the tragedy. He found 'the strength to overcome the tragedy in his religious faith as a Christian. The same faith that has guided him in these his last days on earth suffered. He won one Italian title in season 1955-56 with Fiorentina. For Italy national football team he got 12 international caps and scored 2 goals. He died in Florence in 1998.
