Defence MindedINFO:Rinaldi was a centre back or defensive midfielder. He spent almost his entire career at Foggia: 237 matches and 6 goals from 1958 to 1968.
Rinaldi was renowned for being a strong and physical player, nicknamed "Rock of Gargano" for that reason. He had great temperament but was a fair and respectful player towards the opponents. He's remembered also for having scored the first ever Serie A goal in Foggia history on 13th September 1964: he pushed forward from his defensive position and beat Fiorentina goalkeeper Albertosi with a header. Legend has it that before advancing to score, Rinaldi told Orlando or Hamrin << wait for me here, I go to the other side to score and I'll come back >>. The defender was a good header and it wasn't too uncommon for him to go advance during free kicks or corners. In fact he scored almost all his goals with the head. Despite being able to play in the midfield, he wasn't a player who used to set up the play, even though he occasionally delivered passes forward.
