Cesini was a right back who spent his whole career at Cremonese. The club captain of captains, he holds the record for most appearances with 436 from 1966 to 1979. He played mostly in Serie C but he had the chance to play in Serie B in the 1977-78 season. He was ever-present and throughout the 1970s he missed only a small bunch of matches.
Cesini was a very good old style defender. He was a tough fighter and good man-marker but he was also fair. In fact he never received a yellow card − which may be an unbeatable record. He was part of the team that gained the promotion to Serie B in 1976-77 suffering only 18 goals. He didn't push forward a lot but whenever he did, he could be dangerous either he supported the attack or tried the shot on goal − 7 are his goals.
