INFO:Cera was a sweeper or defensive midfielder. He played 151 matches and scored 8 goals for Hellas Verona from 1957 to 1964. Then he transferred to Cagliari where he became one of the club's greatest legends: 289 games and 6 goals in nine seasons and winner of the 1969-70 Serie A as captain. He retired in 1979 after a six year spell at Cesena, playing 138 times. He capped 18 times for Italy, scored once, and was part of the 1970 FIFA World Cup.
Cera was one of the best players to interpret the sweeper role during his time. He had to play in that position due to the injury of Tomasini but was initially an anchor man defensive midfielder. An all-rounded player, he was essential in the midfield first and then in the defence, still acting as additional midfielder when needed. He was constant throughout the match, rarely made mistakes and whenever he did they were forgiven by the supporters. He − alongside Greatti − was one of the players who gave everything he could even recovering plenty of balls to make up for the mistakes of his teammates. Gifted with outstanding tactical intelligence and vision of the game, he had good feet and exceptional class, was elegant and capable to set up the play with arabesque passes, acting as playmaker from the back.
