Defence MindedINFO:Oddi was a centre back. He played for Lazio from 1967 to 1975 - not counting loans at Sora and Massese - appearing in 131 matches. He then joined Cesena, where he played 289 games from 1975 to 1983. He retired in 1984 after a season at Lodigiani. He never scored during his whole career. He was called up for Italy in 1974 but didn't play.
Oddi was initially a central midfielder during his very early career. He then became a defensive midfielder, a sweeper, a side-back and eventually a centre back during his peak at Lazio. Strangely, when he became a pure defender he improved his ability with the ball, being considered one of the few centre backs capable to play equally well with both feet. A very reliable defender, he constantly marked his opponents, was very capable to stop them before they could shoot and rarely let them being able to find themselves in front of the goal. Despite being free from the task of setting up the action, he was gifted with good vision of the game. He had an incredible form for five consecutive seasons, from 1972 to 1977, having missed not a single Serie A match.
