INFO:
Pancaro is a former side back or wing back, capable to play on both flanks, and also centre back in his late career. After starting his career in lower leagues, he joined Cagliari in 1992, playing 97 matches in five seasons, scoring 5 goals and taking part to the 1993-94 UEFA Cup, even though he was mainly a reserve. He then had his best time at Lazio, where he played 220 matches from 1997 to 2003, scoring 7 times and winning the Scudetto in 1999-2000. After leaving the Biancocelesti, he spent two seasons at Milan, making 56 appearances and scoring twice. He played also for Fiorentina and Torino, where he retired in 2007. He capped for Italy in 19 occasions.
Pancaro was a strong defender, careful, accurate and reactive. In defence he was good at covering the space due to his size and positioning but he could also attack with efficiency thanks to stamina and good speed considering his size. He possessed also tactical awareness and good ball distribution. In particular, he was capable of creating scoring chances by delivering good crosses with either foot. Moreover, he was a threat inside the opposing box thanks to a good leap and accurate heading ability. He was more offensive in his earlier years at Cagliari, where he showed also fine free kick and penalty abilities.

Remenber Italy played also with a 3-4-3/3-5-2 at the time of his uneventful stint with the NT, don't see him genuinely playing as CB with Nesta, Cannavaro, Iuliano, Maldini, Materazzi all playing as CB/SWP during his time as Azzurro.
