Will they still get the awards without playing? Seriously, Lewy/Jorginho/KdB/Benz are apparently participating in a different sport, otherwise you can't explain why they end up behind Messi. But we all know now that winning the jungle cup is worth more than dominating Europe in terms of goals or shining in both UCL and Euro.. I know this a late response, but don't be an Eurocentric Merchant. Let me remind you that the last champions in the last 10 years aren't only Argentina or Brazil. 2011 Uruguay 2015 Chile 2016 Chile 2019 Brazil And just recently: 2021 Argentina And what exactly has the amount of different champions to do with the quality of a competition? Btw: Have to say though that supporting the forum with the keep costs isn't a bad idea. Doni, does your admin friend has a paypal account so we could donate something? I can only speak for myself but since I finally went from student to working life this year, I'd like to give something back to this forum

Milan out of everything, Barcelona to Europa League after 17 consecutive seasons advancing at least to the Champions League round-of-16, Sporting advanced instead of Borussia Dortmund, Sheriff Tiraspol began as one of the weakest teams in the tournament but still qualified for Europa League and defeated Real Madrid in Spain, Salzburg advanced instead of Sevilla. This year's Champions League surely had some surprises!

Don't see a surprise in that, pretty sure that Sevilla simply wanted to play in their personal competition instead of the UCL Btw: Let's take a moment and remember all those clowns who said that ter Stegen would surpass Neuer at any point of his career. and: The face you make when you're becoming the first ever German player to score 50 goals in UCL

I always thought he was way too overhyped from the moment he joined Barcelona. I didn't see anything special in him not even when he was at Borussia Mönchengladbach. Also, congrats to Thomas Müller! He definitely deserved it after the oustanding career he had so far.

Ter Stegen was simply excellent from 2017 to 2019, but he's been awful every time I watched him since. In those years he was actually a great goalkeeper and Barca would have been even worse without him. Also it seemed like Neuer was starting to decline after some injuries and slightly average form but he's been back to his amazing form as usual for the last few seasons. It's more just a case of the best years of Ter Stegen's career and the worst of Neuer's career happened at the same time. Of course, the fact that Ter Stegen's absolute peak barely matches Neuer's worst form shows the difference in quality between the two players, but you could say that about like 99% of goalkeepers in world history (Neuer is at least for me, one of the 4 best in history with Yashin, Zoff and Buffon, I consider those 4 clearly above the rest).
By the way this result confirms that Barca are back to the days of the early 2000s. It will be a long time before they can compete at the top of Europe again.

Honestly, I won't be surprised if they don't even qualify for the next Europa Conference League considering their performances in La Liga so far.

Incredible how Toto was complaining even with how he handled the Mercedes strategy for Lewis in this race.

Still Salzburg needs to be played with proper respect (especially since Adeyemi's speed can be a big danger for our high standing defense) but let's face it: Everyone would choose Red Bull over Diego's butcher boys..

Our draw went well too, bearing in mind that we could have get Celtic, Marseille, Leicester or PSV. Watch out Sparta!

On this day in 1983, Spain needed a 11-goal difference win against Malta to qualify for Euro 1984 instead of Netherlands. They achieved it by winning 12-1, scoring nine goals at the second half. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gooCXAegxKg
