gurkenjoe93 wrote: Regarding the rest: Qatar - Ecuador could become the worst opening game in the history I wouldn't underestimate Qatar. In my opinion they had a pretty good showing at the 2019 Copa América even though they ended up last in their group. The players who will be called up for the World Cup are likely to be more or less the same. Of course I'm not saying they can go a lot far in the tournament but they might do well against smaller teams like Ecuador.

Although I don’t feel optimistic that we can get past both Ukraine and Wales, a potential rematch against England sounds amazing and maybe we could get revenge against Iran for 1978 Interestingly there’s no group of death this time, apart from Qatar I can only really see Portugal failing out of the pot 1 teams. There’s a few interesting battles for 2nd place in the groups but I can’t really see too many potential upsets.

I'm not kidding btw, in first match Villareal could (or to be more precise: should) have scored at least three or four goals + most of our important players are out of form. Of course it's still possible that our players suddenly decide to play football again but right now I think that two Spanish teams will end up in the semis..

Nagelsman and Tuchel both were too reckless adopting a system with two central midfielders. Plenty of room for Villarreal and Real respectively.

Nagelsmann must be fired for this, how can you substitute the best CB of your team in the 85th minute for a LWB? I'd like to congratulate Villareal but I can't. Such a pathetic team, Albiol spent more time on the ground during the 90 minutes then a Spanish prostitute during an entire year, their GK wasted time from the first minute, etc It's like poor man Atletico, thank god Klopp and Pool will waste that team in the semis.

Nagelsmann thinks we are in 1952? Why he plays 3-2-5?

I don't understand it either but let's face it: We had Villareal under control with 3-5-2/3-6-1/3-2-5 but how is it possible to tear down your entire stability by removing the best defender today for Davies who just returned after beeing out for months (and letting him play on wrong position)? Of course he wasn't close enough to his opponent, of course Coman has to foul in the midfield but the biggest fault is that stupid move by Nagelsmann? If he wanted to bring in Davies, then take off Sané/Coman (+ Nianzou for Hernandez if he really needed to be substituted - what I can't imagine since Lucas is the only one who really fights atm) but not Lucas.. The only substitution that was on the same retard level was Ottmar's decision to take of Matthäus for Fink in 1999 and today it was the same: You are controlling the game and the opponent, why not wait for the overtime to make substitutions?

Watching Foden today I see a lot of potential to become Neymar's successor - in terms of diving of course (apparently training with Sterling helped him). Too bad that Pepe and Ramos aren't playing for RM anymore, I would have loved to see one of them butchering that clown..

Nah it’s funny to see Atleti’s own tactics being used against them. They’ve been diving, wasting time, intentionally injuring opponents etc. for decades so I have zero sympathy for other teams doing it against them. Even funnier when they couldn’t keep cool and ended up wasting even more time by crying about it. Such a scummy team, they’re just the modern day Estudiantes. It’s beautiful to see them eliminated in such a way. Also hilarious that they’re now complaining about time wasting, when they wasted 90 minutes in the first game not even attempting to play football.
