Moretti was a right-inside, capable of playing also as centre forward or right wing-half with offensive duties. He spent the majority of his career at Milan, making 223 appearances from 1931 to 1939, scoring 68 goals. He played also for Crema, Brescia, Cremonese and retired in 1947. He was called up for Italy several times but never played.
Moretti was an offensive player, capable of supporting the whole forward line efficiently especially when the match got tough. He was a good scorer and was distinguished for his technical skills, speed, reaction and determination. Despite the fact that his performances weren't very consistent, he played regularly for seven years straight, taking part to at least 30 games every season.
