INFO:A calm, systematic and reflective footballer. He wasted no time, he was always learning. His strength was that he never gave up. Kasperczak liked to start the attack from the back (played CB at times), free kick taker from the back and side, and corner kick taker, his passes and crosses had a nice curve.
By 1973 he won with Stal their first title, in 1976 their second. The rise of the club coincided with the emergence of three key players in Kasperczak, Lato, and Domarski. It was due to his performances in the championship year that made Gorski give him his first international cap in 1973. The public reaction initially though was one of shock for such a limited player to get a cap, but his bustling energy and aggressiveness in all quarters eventually convinced public opinion otherwise and came to be regarded as a master stroke by Gorski, with Kasperczak solidifying his place in the national setup for the next five years. Kasperczak was a vital cog in the three man midfield of Poland, while Deyna was given the freedom to express himself artistically, Kasperczak was his foil. The grunt work was shared with Maszczyk, but Kaperczak was expected also to bring some craft to the build up of attacks and ensure a quick recovery if the play was reversed.
Kasperczak finally left the club in 1978 after making 345 appearances and scoring 23 times. He had one last season in the France with Metz before retiring. Appeared 61 times for Poland scoring 5 times, claiming Silver in the 1976 Olympics. Participated in the world championships twice (third place in 1974, fifth - in 1978)
