INFO:Adebayor is a former centre forward. He had his best time at Arsenal from 2005 to 2009, making 142 appearances and scoring 62 goals. He had good experiences also with Metz ─ although in Ligue 2 ─ Monaco, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and İstanbul Başakşehir. Less successful were the seasons spent at Real Madrid, Crystal Palace, Kayserispor and Club Olimpia. He signed for Togolese team Semassi in 2021. He capped for Togo in 85 occasions, scoring 32 goals. He was named African Footballer of the Year in 2008.
Possibly one of the best striker in Togo history, Adebayor has been compared to Nwankwo Kanu, his idol. He was distinguished for his great height, effective runs behind the defenders and ability in the air due to his excellent jump and good heading. In fact, 7 of the 30 goals scored in his most prolific season, the 2007-08, were headers. Adebayor possessed great strength and good speed for a man his size. His superb technical and dribbling skills allowed him to challange his opponents one-on-one, keep and defend the ball, act outside of the box. Sometimes he showed decent ball distribution but it's in front of the goal where he was a major threat. He was almost exclusively right-footed and rarely used the left foot, which he wasn't bad with. He usually scored with well placed and not powerful shots but sometimes kicked the ball using more force, especially with volleys. He was criticised for his lack of discipline in his early years and consistency throughout his career.
