In 1967, he joined Újpest Dozsa. Started as a striker, but there were such strikers that one could only dream of being one of them, so he became a left-back. Eventually he played in every position except right-half and goalkeeper. Both Real Madrid and Inter invited him, but Újpest refused, so the Spaniards bought Breitner. He was a member of the team that won 7 league titles in a row between 1969 and 1975. At the beginning of the series, he achieved a championship second place and a third place at the end. In addition to these, three MNK victories are among his results. In 1968-69, he was a member of the team that reached the finals of the Vásárvárosok Cup, but did not play in the final match. He appeared in Újpest colors in a total of 148 league matches and scored 6 goals. Between 1976 and 1978, he played in Tatabánya , and between 1979 and 1982 in Volán SC.
