INFO:
Abdel-Wahab was a centre or inside forward. His career started in 1968 in Sudan's second division. He transferred to Al-Hilal Omdurman in 1970 and stayed there until his retirement in 1977. He was supposed to join Emirati team Al-Shaab at some point but he refused the transfer. A member of Sudan national team since 1968, he scored at least 5 goals, three of them in consecutive matches during the qualifiers for the 1972 Olympics.
One of Sudan's biggest legends, Abdel-Wahab was considered a genius in his country as he did whatever he wanted with the ball, keeping it as long as he chose to, showing phenomenal creativity, high technical skill and ball control, deadly passing, a powerful and accurate shot that rarely missed the goal. He knew exactly when and how to cut through the defences before passing the ball to a well positioned teammate. Although, sometimes he would do all by himself, dribbling all the defenders and finishing the attacking play. His qualities earned him the nickname "Doctor". Unfortunately, he lacked of discipline and fitness because he considered football only a hobby. Therefore, he didn't care about training nor following his coach's instructions. As a result, he lost his place in the Sudanese national team that was forced to do without his unmatched skill.
