INFO:Hassan was a centre or left-back, capable of playing in other positions, especially in midfield. He spent the majority of his career at Al-Neel from 1960 to 1974. He then transferred to the United Arab Emirates, playing for Sharjah from 1974 up to his retirement in 1978. He reportedly capped for Sudan 105 times, taking part to the successful 1970 African Cup of Nations, although he wasn't featured in the final due to an injury suffered in the semi-final. He played also at the African Cup in 1972 and 1976 as well as the 1972 Olympics.
A legendary captain of Sudan national team, considered one of the best and most prominent players the country has ever produced, Hassan was a complete player distinguished for his fitness, high consistency, great technical and physical abilities, braveness, sportsmanship, creativity, and versatility that enabled him to play in different positions. He owned the centre-back position for a decade. Al-Neel at times deployed him in midfield in a 4-3-3 formation and in attack when there was shortage of forwards. He even played as goalkeeper in a match against Cameroon after Zaghbir got injured and Sudan had no available substitutions.
