INFO:Tanqa is a former left-back. His career started in 1977 at Al-Shurog. He transferred to El Hilal El Obeid in 1979. He eventually had his longest and most successful spell at Al-Hilal Omdurman from 1985 to 1997. He retired in 1997 after a short experience at Tuti Khartoum. He capped for Sudan at least 4 times throughout the 1980s and early 1990s.
Arguably the best left-back Sudan has ever produced, Tanqa introduced the role of the modern side-back in the country. Always wearing the jersey n°4, he was distinguished for his high level performances, great technical abilities, elusiveness and creative touches. He never received a red card as he knew how to take the ball off his opponents with fair tackles and without relying on roughness. Once he regained possession, he could make excellent movements forward and threaten the opposition's goal with his good shooting skill or provide accurate crosses that the strikers only had to head in. Moreover, he was known also for his accuracy from set piece with his magic left foot.
