INFO:Cardinali was a winger. Raised at Ternana, he debuted professionally with the
rossoverdi in 1946, scoring 31 goals in 66 Serie B games during two seasons. He transferred to Lecce where he became a legend, playing for the team from 1948 to 1953 and in 1955-56. He spent his first season with the
giallorossi in Serie B, the next four in Serie C. He shortly played in Serie A with Spal in 1953-54 but unsuccessfully. He retired in 1956 after two seasons in the Italian fourth division, one year with Siena and one with Lecce. He scored a total 67 goals in 172 appearances for Lecce.
A great and consistent winger, Cardinali still has the highest scoring rate in professional leagues for a Ternana player. The abilities of Ternana's crown jewel nearly led his team to obtain the promotion to Serie A in 1946-47. He then formed with Anselmo Bislenghi the most prolific couple of strikers in Lecce's history. Other than being a remarkable scorer, Cardinali was distinguished for his speed and ability to slip between the defenders.
