Bubacco is a former goalkeeper. He spent the majority of his career at Venezia, mostly in Serie B, making 234 appearances from 1957 to 1969. He played also for Burano from 1955 to 1957, Sottomarina from 1969 to 1971, and Belluno from 1971 to 1977.
Although he wasn't always a starter, often alternating with another goalkeeper, Bubacco was known for his excellent reflexes and spectacular, acrobatic saves. He used to often come off the goal recklessly, sometimes resulting in getting hit and injured. While he was capable of making miracle saves, he was at times easy to surprise. Also, he wasn't very effective against powerful shots from middle distance.
