Khalil is a centre forward who also plays as left-winger and occasionally as secondary striker or attacking midfielder. He spent the majority of his career at Shabab Al Ahli where he played from 2006 to 2017 and 2018 to 2022, scoring over 100 goals in more than 270 appearances. He also played for Al Jazira and Al Ain in 2017-18, and signed for Al Bataeh in 2022. He capped for the United Arab Emirates 104 times, scoring 48 goals. In 2015, he became the first ever Emirati to win the Asian Player of the Year award.
Considered one of the most important players in the Emirates' history, Khalil is distinguished by his skill, amazing scoring ability, physical strength, solid heading, great pace and the ability to dribble past multiple opponents. Even though his main position is centre forward, he has an excellent ball distribution as he can provide his teammates with accurate passes that penetrate the opposition's defense. Sometimes he moves to the flank to deliver a low cross, although his crosses are usually not as accurate as his passes. It's not rare that he moves into midfield, even his own half, to start the attack from there. He's also a set piece specialist, in particular from free kick and penalty. The info about his height/weight are inconsistent. His profile in the UAE League website says 175 cm and 79 kg, which is believable. I may go with that. Also, it's true that he could unleash powerful strikes but are most of his goals like that? Maybe SP 83 is enough.
