INFO:Auri is a former left-back. His career started in 1970 at Perseman Manokawari. After showing great talent at the 1974 Acub Zainal Cup, he was signed by Persipura Jayapura. His excellent performances quickly earned him a place in the Indonesia national team. He eventually transferred to Persija Jakarta in 1978. He retired in 1987. He was an Indonesia international from 1975 to 1985.
A legend of Indonesian football, Auri was distinguished by his outstanding speed and great tenacity. He always seemed tireless on the left flank as he would constantly run selflessly. He was nicknamed "Black Silent" because he never complained, barely talked on the field, was calm and yet explosive when needed. Initially a winger and midfielder, he was turned into a left-back by Persipura coach Samsi who trained Auri to make his natural left foot stronger by having him wear a special soccer shoe on the left and simple sneakers on the right. He eventually learned to use his left foot regularly. Auri never cared about having the spotlight, preferring the typical Papuan style made of pace, strength, aggressiveness.
