INFO:Risdianto is a former centre forward and left-winger. His career started in 1964 at Persekabpas Pasuruan. He transferred to Persija Jakarta in 1971 and played there until 1977. However, he was loaned to Hong Kong team McKinnons for the 1974-75 season. He retired in 1983 after spending five years at Warna Agung. He capped for Indonesia 56 times, scoring 25 goals.
After starting his career as left-winger, Risdianto changed his primary position into centre forward as Abdul Kadir became the main player on the left flank. Risdianto found more success in the new role as a prolific striker who had in accurate and fast shots his best weapon to hit the opposition's net. Sharp, cunning, able with feet and head, not only he ran well towards the ball but his technique and timing were also correct. Therefore, he was always controlled by the defenders. A natural left-footed, Risdianto learned to use to the other foot as well after coming back from an injury that he incidentally suffered to the right foot.
One of Persija's main free kick takers, he took a free kick that turned out to be decisive in his team winning the 1973 national league. In the final minutes of a match against Persebaya Surabaya, he chose not to shoot. Instead, he crossed the ball for Andi Lala who then scored.
Risdianto had the chance to face two big European clubs, Ajax in 1973 and Manchester United in 1975. His performance against the Dutch team was superb, scoring for the momentary 1-0 as he received a ball coming from midfield, stepped forward and beat the goalkeeper. Unfortunately, Ajax equalised for the final 1-1. He couldn't repeat himself two years later against the "Red Devils" because he played the match while injured.
