Mofokeng was a right-back, always wearing the jersey n°2. He spent his entire career at Kaizer Chiefs, making 332 appearances and scoring 1 goal from 1975 to 1985. He's the longest serving captain in the club's history, filling the role for 11 years.
Regarded as one of the best right-backs South Africa has ever produced alongside Sizwe Motaung and Sam Kambule, Mofokeng was a great player known for his exceptional leadership, tough tackling, high speed and overlapping ability. He was a little dynamo of muscle and energy. But despite being one of the shortest players, he was super fit and had a bulky frame that made him very strong and hard to beat. Although he often pushed forward to support the attack, he scored only once in his career. He played well with the n°7 and n°8, exchanging passes with them constantly. And he was quite good in the defence too as his presence made it difficult for the opponents to penetrate through his flank.
