BalancedINFO:Lorenzo Faravelli is an Argentinian footballer who plays as a midfielder. Born in Rosario, Santa Fe (29/03/1993), he started his professional career at Newell's Old Boys in 2011, at only 17 years old. In mid-2013 he went on loan for a season to Unión Española, Chile's most recent champion, where he found continuity, especially during the second semester, consolidating himself as a starter and having good performances in the Copa Libertadores. Despite having stood out in several games, Unión Española did not use the purchase option on him. After not having the desired continuity at Newell's Old Boys, in mid-2015 he left on loan for a season to Gimnasia y Esgrima de La Plata at the request of Pedro Troglio. After his first year, where he would stand out in several games, Gustavo Alfaro, then Gimnasia coach, asked the club to make use of the purchase option. After four years and 96 games defending the Gimnasia y Esgrima de La Plata shirt, he was very close to winning a title with the La Plata club in 2018, being crowned runner-up in the Argentine Cup. His next step was Huracán in Argentina, where he signed a year on loan, requested by coach Juan Pablo Vojvoda, an old acquaintance from the Newell's Old Boys youth team. His time at the Parque Patricios club was brief, he played only nine games, and at the end of the first semester, he left the team.
In January 2020, he arrived at the brand new champion of the 2019 Copa Sudamericana, Independiente del Valle, from Ecuador, signing a contract for three seasons. He quickly became an important player in the institution, after a year and a half the club offered a renewal for one more season, signing a contract until December 2023. On the day the club opened its new stadium, March 20, 2021, Lorenzo managed to score the first goal in the history of the Banco Guayaquil stadium, entering the history of the
rayados, in the team's 2-0 victory against Delfín Sporting Club. He participated in the historic achievement of the Sangolquí club's first local title, after winning the final against Club Sport Emelec (3-1 in the first leg and 1-1 in the second leg) in the year 2021, becoming one of the team's figures, being the only player who played in all 32 games of the tournament and being awarded as the best central midfielder of the year and in the ideal team of that season. On October 1, 2022, he scored Independiente del Valle's second goal to become champion of the Copa Sudamericana in the final against São Paulo Futebol Clube of Brazil 2-0, the Ecuadorian team's second international title. For the
"matagigantes", Lorenzo played 158 games, scored 28 goals and won 5 titles before joining Cruz Azul, from the Liga MX.
