Attack/Defence Awareness Card: Defence MindedINFO:Elijah Litana is a former Zambian defender, a legend of Al-Hilal and starter of the Zambian team that came 2nd then 3rd in the AFCONs of 1994 and 1996. He was a huge mountain of a defender, an incredibly powerful player that dominated all of his opponents physically. He was used to mark the strongest players and with his height and aerial ability, he was a big presence in both boxes. His headed clearances were powerful, and he scored some important goals too: he scored in both the semi final and final of the AFCON in 1994, and in the quarter final of the 1996 tournament. He had good reactions and could cut off the supply to strikers by constantly beating them to the ball. On the other hand he was a very slow and unagile player, and limited technically, although he could occasionally send some nice short passes into the midfield. With Al-Hilal he's considered the best foreign defender in the club's history. His career came to a sudden and strange end in 2000 due to a gunshot wound to his knee, thought to have happened when he accidentally shot himself while cleaning the weapon.
