Attack-MindedINFO:Marinho is a Brazilian footballer who plays as a right winger or second forward. Born in Penedo, Alagoas (29/05/1990), Marinho began his career at Fluminense at the age of 18 in a 3-1 defeat against Botafogo in the Campeonato Carioca. On December 30, 2008, at just 18 years old, he was announced as a new signing for SC Internacional for five years. Besides Inter, Marinho had also attracted interest from Porto in Portugal. With limited opportunities, Marinho was loaned to Caxias for the 2011 Série C. He was later also loaned to Paraná, Goiás, and Ituano. He was permanently signed by Náutico on January 8, 2014, arriving as one of the main reinforcements for the season. He later had stints at Ceará and Cruzeiro. His breakthrough season came in 2016 for EC Vitória, scoring 21 goals in 43 games, although the following year he was sold to China, to Changchun Yatai. Marinho failed to shine as expected in China, and after two seasons, he was sold to Grêmio for a total of R$ 8 million. On May 25, 2019, Santos announced the signing of Marinho, who signed a contract until the end of 2022. At Santos, Marinho would spend his best years, becoming Santos' best player (something he hadn't achieved at any of his previous clubs) in his three seasons with the team. Although Marinho did not win collective titles with the São Paulo club, he reached a Copa Libertadores final in 2020, where he was also named the best player, the best player of the Brasileirão, and also received the South American Footballer of the Year award. After these outstanding performances, on January 27, 2022, Flamengo agreed with Santos to sign Marinho. At the Rio de Janeiro club, Marinho had a poor performance, and in 2023, he was sold to EC Fortaleza, where he was able to revive his career with good performances, although not at the level he reached in the 2020-21 season. At the northeastern club, he was selected for the Ideal Team of the 2023 Copa Sudamericana.
