Born in Noetinger, Córdoba (19/07/1942), a small town in the province of Córdoba near the city of Villa María, he moved to the province of Santa Fe as a teenager to play for Argentino Atlético Club in the city of Las Parejas. In the early 1960s, Irusta joined Club Atlético San Lorenzo de Almagro, where he made his professional debut on June 23, 1963, against C.A. Atlanta, which featured Hugo Orlando Gatti. He comes from a family of goalkeepers, starting with his father, who was a goalkeeper in the Cordoba League, followed by his brother Rolando, who was the goalkeeper for the Argentine national team in the 1966 FIFA World Cup, and his son Gustavo, who played as a goalkeeper for Independiente and Talleres. Agustín faced many ups and downs throughout his career at San Lorenzo, which started on a high note very early on: after three seasons of excellent performances, in 1966 he was relegated to the bench with the arrival of Carlos Buttice, who many consider the best goalkeeper in the club's history. Irusta spent the next four years on the bench, playing only 9 of the 205 official matches San Lorenzo played during that time. In 1970, after Buttice's departure to América-RJ in Brazil, when everyone thought Irusta would return to San Lorenzo's goal, then-coach and former Real Madrid goalkeeper, Rogelio Domínguez, decided to give more playing time to Jorge D'Alessandro and Luis Kadijevich. As a result, Irusta's return had to wait until the 1972 Torneo Metropolitano, where the goalkeeper from Córdoba showed that even after 5 years of inactivity, he was still the same great goalkeeper who had been part of the famous "Carasucias" San Lorenzo team of '64. With Irusta in goal, San Lorenzo became the first Argentine team to win two championships in one year, by winning the 1972 Torneo Metropolitano and the Torneo Nacional. They also reached the semifinals of the 1973 Copa Libertadores. In 1974, Irusta once again alternated as the starting goalkeeper, this time with the newly arrived Alfredo Anhielo, with whom San Lorenzo would win the 1974 Torneo Metropolitano. The time to say goodbye came on November 14, 1976, in Caballito, in a 2-2 draw against Ferro Carril Oeste. His debut, full of hopes, was now a distant memory, more than 13 years earlier. Thus, bidding farewell with great dignity and with his head held high, Agustín Enrique Irusta left San Lorenzo after playing 263 matches, becoming the goalkeeper with the most appearances in the club's history. As if that were not enough, he also became the player with the most national titles in the club's history, alongside his teammates Villar, Telch, and Cocco.

I finished the "Los Matadores" squad on pes21 and I was really impressed with some of the names, Irusta included! I read that he perfected a beautiful catch, giving the ball with the comb, side, giving direction to the ball and he went down clean to the floor, this technique was learned from a great man like Amadeo Carrizo. They remember him sheathed in a black shirt, with his imposing physique, his huge hands, his reflexes, his audacity to throw himself on top of the forwards who faced him and above all, the most wonderful punch in the goal kicks that has ever been seen; he gave it with three fingers and put it right on the feet of his classmates: "I learned that from Amadeo Carrizo, a teacher. I hit it sideways, gave it direction and the ball came down clean. In addition, he gave them to him at ground level. It worked out well for me, I had that virtue".
I haven't seen much videos of Irusta, perhaps you were more successful in finding/watching the matches. Do you think that he deserves a higher LPA? (Carrizo is at 68)
P.S. do you intend to work on some other players of that squad, such as Buttice, Rosl, Cocco and/or Veglio (he deserves maybe a Boca set as well), maybe even Veira..?
Keep up mate!

Hey mate! There aren’t full matches available for most of these players, so a large part of the set comes from interpreting texts and comparing them with other goalkeepers of that era. I probably underestimated his LPA, but not by much. I’m not sure if you’re familiar with this source, but for matches from that time, DiFilm is usually very useful, as it is the largest image bank in Latin America. You can often find clips of 4 to 6 minutes of black and white matches that, if it weren’t for this, there would be no record at all: I particularly found a gem, which is a Boca 0 - 3 San Lorenzo from 1963 that has 36 (!) minutes of available footage, which for that time in Argentina is a lot. Right now I’m working on Carlos Buttice, which I’ll probably post between today and tomorrow. I also tried to make a set for Antonio Rosl, who has a match available on Footballia (Argentina vs. West Germany, 1973), but I haven't reached any concrete values yet, so I'll have to rewatch the match. I don't plan on doing Vieira, Cocco, or Veglio (who also don’t have matches available on Footballia), but if you have some pointers on those players, maybe I can start gathering information for a set. In the meantime, I’ve given Irusta +1 in SPA and LPS, +2 in LPA, and added S12 to him. Hope you have a great day.

Thanks mate, that's actually really useful, I haven't worked a lot on players from Argentina or Latin America so this is indeed a gem (I remember though seeing DiFilm on youtube, but hadn't bothered to research further). I'll send you a DM with some of the pointers, hope it helps
