INFO:Tew was a right-back and centre-back. His career started in 1979 at Casa Sports in his native country Senegal. He signed for Club Brugge in 1984 and played there until 1990, making 148 appearances and scoring 5 goals. He then played for Charleroi between 1990 and 1992 and again Casa Sport in 1992-93 before retiring. A Senegal international from 1982 to 1992, he capped for his country not less than 13 times and scored at least 1 goal, although some sources report 82 caps.
Tew was a very good defender, capable in both man marking and zonal marking, though he seemed better in the latter, often covering the ground across the entire defensive line. He was physically strong and too fast but possessed the short sprint and timing to often anticipate his opponents. He wasn't notably gifted from a technical standpoint but possessed a solid ball distribution. He preferred playing the ball from the back as he rarely joined the attack. He was particularly good in the air, often winning high balls thanks especially to a remarkable jumping ability that also allowed him to score some goals.
