- Next to Henrik Larsson, Knut Kroon is probably the best performer among all HIF soccer players. Knut Kroon played as a left winger in the 1920s, 30s and 40s and mastered all aspects of soccer except one. He was short and held the firm opinion that soccer was played on the ground.

Aside from the main game, there were no cracks in Kroon's record. He was a skilled dribbler, an exquisite striker and a crafty shooter. A specialty was accurate shots on goal from a tight angle.
Knut Kroon was a great crowd favorite at Olympia and, of the generation that was there at the time and is now gone, many believed that Knut Kroon was Sweden's greatest left winger of all time. Harry Lundahl and Putte Kock, among others, rated him higher than Nacka Skoglund; Kroon's wider repertoire was decisive.

On October 21, 1928, IFK Eskilstuna was defeated 13-1 in Olympia. The match will not be remembered as HIF's greatest victory in the Allsvenskan, but for Kroon's goalscoring explosions. In the second half, he was responsible for three goals in 2.57 minutes. It was a world record hat-trick for a long time and today it remains an Allsvenskan record.

Knut Kroon played 35 international matches during the years 1925-34. He participated in the World Cup in Italy where he decided Sweden's opening match against Argentina by scoring the 3-2 goal. He thus became Sweden's first World Cup hero.

- He was certainly not the fastest player in the Swedish league and did not excel in aerial duels.

- Source research provides information on, among other things, the following:

* Kroon was a very technical and loyal team player.
* Kroon was both a striker and a finisher. He and Albin Dahl were the sharpest radar pair in the Swedish league.
* Kroon's performances were pinpoint accurate.
* Kroon never held the ball longer than necessary.
* Kroon made everything difficult easy.

- Kroon was a very technical player with a good sense of the game.

- He could act as both a striker and a striker and his passes were often accurate. However, he was not very fast and was not a very important player.

- Kroon was not fast, but he was a technical and sensible player.

Quote:
- But Kroon is also historic from an international perspective. He became Sweden's first World Cup hero when he scored the winning goal (3-2) in Sweden's World Cup debut against Argentina in Bologna in 1934, ten minutes from time.
The next day he was able to enjoy praise in the Gazetta dello Sport:
“The only Swede who technically could compare with the Argentines was Kroon.”

Quote:
- Well-known TV presenter Lars-Gunnar Björklund was one of the few who managed to get an interview with the reclusive Erik Börjesson, Sweden's first soccer star. Börjesson was not content to merely rank Kroon as Sweden's best left winger, but also considered him Sweden's best outfield player of all time.
Knutte Kroon's volleys and goal orgies of course deserve special attention.

Quote:
- Harry Lundahl and Putte Kock, great players, national team players and UK national team coaches, told me on several occasions:
“Nacka Skoglund was undoubtedly a player offered by God.” But Sweden's greatest left winger of all time is called Knutte Kroon.

First of all... Many thanks to the forum administrator.

I don't know how I suddenly found myself on the forum and discovered I had my own section, but if there are truly people who enjoy the statistics I create, I have to thank them too. While my work isn't perfect, I will always look for ways to improve through research and interpretation. I hope to continue offering you statistics you enjoy and, of course, corrections that I will accept and discuss if necessary.

You seem a good guy who wants to improve his set and his stats making skils.

Don't make me regret this choice
