Kwame Quansah was a versatile Ghanaian midfielder who made his name at Heracles Almelo, where he built a long, solid career and was very much identified with the club. After playing for Ajax through the youth ranks and on loan in Belgium and Sweden, he joined Heracles in 2004.

At the Almelo club, Quansah found his place and quickly established himself as a regular starter. Playing as a holding midfielder, he stood out for his physical dedication, firm marking, intelligent positioning and reading of the game, being the type of player who provided tactical stability to the team, but who still contributed to the attacking build-up, even without appearing frequently in the statistics for goals or assists. His discreet but extremely efficient performance was fundamental to Heracles' solidity in several seasons.

In 2013/14, the club decided not to renew his contract, ending his career at the end of that season. Quansah retired in 2016 after a brief stint in China and is remembered by Heracles fans as a combative, loyal and consistent midfielder, a typical team “engine”, who left his mark and an important long-lasting bond in the club’s history.
