INFO:Milad Abbasi was a prominent Jordanian goalkeeper and the captain of both the national team and Al-Faisaly Football Club during the 1980s and early 1990s. He began his international career in 1976, playing numerous friendly and official international matches that honed his talent. Abbasi was well-known for his high sportsmanship both on and off the pitch. He was characterized by extreme calmness and steady nerves, which often gave him total control inside the penalty area. He was also distinguished by bravery and intelligence in saving the ball, excelling at positioning himself perfectly whenever an opposing attacker approached his goal. However, one of his drawbacks was an occasional lapse in concentration during certain moments of a match, leading to strange mistakes that resulted in goals for the opponent. He led his club, Al-Faisaly, to win the Jordanian League championship for the football season that recently concluded (according to a report published in 1987). His return to the national team ranks helped restore balance and technical stability to the defensive line, thanks to his extensive experience. In a press interview, he praised the intense, traditional rivalry between the two giants of Jordanian football, Al-Faisaly and Al-Deffatain (Al-Wehdat). He attributed the dominance of these two teams to administrative stability, attention to youth development, and the continuous provision of rewards and incentives to players. Milad Abbasi remains a milestone in the history of Jordanian goaltending, serving as a model that combines technical competence with ethical leadership.
