One of the best scorers of Željezničar Sarajevo, although he played in midfield. He was sophisticated dribbler, with accurate and strong shot. His main characteristic was great positioning for goalscoring situations. Decent playmaker with good final pass, he was terorising defences alongside Ivica Osim, and often going back and helping his defensive teammates.
He played more than 400 games for Zeljeznicar and scored 241 goals. If we consider only official matches, he played 190 games and scored 97 goals. He was a topscorer of Yugoslav League 1962-1963 with 18 goals.
Also, he played 4 times for national team and scored one goal.
