INFO:Lido Vieri was a goalkeeper. He spent the majority of his career at Torino and Inter, where he respectively made 353 appearances from 1958 to 1969 and 199 from 1969 to 1976. He played also for Vigevano and Pistoiese, where he retired in 1981. He was called up for Italy in 4 occasions, winning the 1968 UEFA Euro as third goalkeeper.
Vieri was a charismatic keeper, who possessed leadership, great personality and physical strength. He was elegant in the movements and capable of making saves as much spectacular as effective. He preferred catching the ball, sometimes deflecting it safely to the side to avoid a likely tap-in. He was quick when coming out of the goal and very good at saving high balls by punching them away or stopping them even with one hand.
