Trebbi was a right or left back. He had his best time at Milan from 1958 to 1966, making 167 appearances and scoring once. He played also for Torino, Monza and Civitanovese, retiring in 1974. He was called up for Italy twice. Trebbi didn't possess a big physique but was a reliable defender, distinguished for his great speed, good sense of position and responsiveness as he was capable of intercepting numerous balls and clear them even on the goal line. He didn't rush forward a lot, doing so usually to look for a shooting opportunity, showing power but an unsurprising lack of accuracy. His only goal came on October 6, 1963 against Genoa after he rushed quickly towards the goal, exchanged passes with Rivera and beat goalkeeper Da Pozzo from a favourable position.
