Franzosi is a former goalkeeper. He spent the majority of his career at Inter, making 191 appearances from 1941 to 1951 and gaining 2 caps for Italy in the biennium 1947-48. He played also for Genoa from 1951 to 1956 and Lecco in the 1956-57 season, his last one before retirement. Franzosi was a very short goalkeeper, highly praised though for his acrobatic qualities that earned him the nickname Gatto Nero. Also, he was very reliable between the posts and preferred catching the ball instead of deflecting it. His only flaw was probably the low efficiency out of the goal in one-on-one situations.
