As not even thirty years old, had the opportunity to coach the Chilean national team at the World Cup 1930, in Uruguay, where the team took second place in the group A. With his 29 years, is the second youngest coach to have led a national team to the world cup, after Juan Jose Tramutola.
In Italy, began with the AC Messina in Serie B, succeeding in 1932 Engelbert König. After two years, probably trained the Pisa. He started his career in Serie A with Genoa in 1936, then went for a short time in Germany, to Nuremberg. He finished with a season and a two-year period to Savona Catania.
After World War II Orth continued his coaching career mainly in Latin America, where he was in charge of the national teams of Mexico, Colombia and Peru. Gyorgy Orth died in 1962 while he was coach of Porto.
