INFO

Félix Marrero Morán is a former Spanish footballer who played as a defensive midfielder. Felix was most known for his excellent marking skills, always marking the most dangerous rivals like Schuster, Cruyff, etc. Despite that, he had good ball control and even better passing range which made him also a playmaker in midfield who will start the attacks with precise passes. He run a lot, good destroyer, strong and quick. On one occasion, during Miguel Brindisi's time as coach of UD Las Palmas (1991), the Argentine star made an appendix during an interview for the newspaper AS with the author of this report. "The best player you have seen at UD?" we asked him. "I can name several but this time I will mention Negro Félix. Because being a footballer with extraordinary technical qualities, he sacrificed himself so that the rest of us would be better on the field of play. Félix was much better than what we saw, he ran for us and his sacrifice made the whole team shine. That is within the reach of few," said Miguel. Felix started to play at Unio Grupo, at 16 he passed to youth of Las Palmas. Played from 1974 to 1988 for the club tozal of 348 games and 18 goals. In 1982 Felix scored the 1000th goal in the Primera of Las Palmas. He was targeted by Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona who were all keen to sign him, but Las Palmas always said no. Felix was part of the most successful generation of Las Palmas which reached Copa del Rey final in '77-'78, eventually losing 3-1 to Barcelona.
